I’ve sent our book to Jade Goody in the desperate hope she gets it, I read she wanted her boys to believe in heaven and I think the book could be a great way of introducing anyone to the ideas of living in the sky and heaven without it seeming creepy.

The kids keep asking me if Jade is still ok I think like everyone they are hoping she lives as long as possible. I’ve always been a BB fan and always admired Jade for doing well for herself, good on her. But like for my Mark I am saddest most for Jade because it’s the person that has died that can’t enjoy doing things anymore, sharing in things we still can they miss out even more than us. I think by giving the person who has died a place to live be it the sky, heaven or in the stars then they have a geographical place to be and I have found that helps, no one is lost then. I know where Mark is and I truly hope that lovely Jade’s children will know where she will eventually live.

Cliches concerning death should be banned

Does it not get on your nerves when people use cliches concerning death?

“Ahh time’s a great healer, it’s the first anniversary and xmas that’s the worst.”

Oh wouldn’t you just rather they shut up? Ok they are trying to be nice (I think) and yes I accept it’s hard to know what to say but how about they said something they understood or most of all something useful?  I’d rather stand and talk about Mark and what a laugh he was and then people tell me their little stories. Cliches concerning death should be banned. We are close to Mark’s 2nd anniversary and although we choose to celebrate that he existed on the anniversary people seem to think it’s only anniversaries that are hard, well newsflash it aint. There were more normal days in our 15 and half years than there were anniversaries or birthdays, more nights when he stood at the kitchen door me at the cooker, kids racing around him and he would say “alrite Coup how was your day, what’s for tea?” They were more frequent so you miss them almost more. Idiots, so come everyone lets change Society’s dumb view of death and if we can educate just a few people each to realise cliches in death or useless and not helpful then maybe just maybe for those in the future who it is yet to come for they can benefit from not having to listen to such annoying waffle.

So, that was my first ever blog, did I do well? Did I get it off my chest? Yeah.

Welcome all whether you are a bereaved parent, grandparent, friend, teacher, support worker or those who are terminally ill and are searching for help in preparation for the time when you grow wings of your own.

I decided to set up this blog (even though I’ve never  even used Facebook!) after the enormous response we received following our books appearance on ITV’s This Morning. At the time of writing this intro it’s 4 weeks since we appeared on the show and the emails are still coming in from people telling me their story, that of their friends or relatives and I have been replying and in doing so I personally have found a sense of relief for me that I am not alone, I am not crazy in thinking and feeling what I think and do and I’m so grateful for the sense of relief that gives.

So I guessed that if you want to talk and tell me and knowing what I get from talking to you all then perhaps there is a need for a chat room for ”us”. You know “us” that used to be “normal” parents but are now seen as “heroic or alien!” Damn thing is we are only being who we always were mothers and fathers to our children and whether our other halves be here now or not we always were and always will be parents to our children.

So let’s all chat, share, exchange opinions and ideas and experiences and maybe like it helps me it will help all of us. If you feel the need to rant just do it but lets all be polite!

So here we go happy chatting and blogging
